1962 American Football League Champions!

Quarterback Len Dawson led the AFL in comp. pct. (61.0), passing TDs (29), passer rating (98.3), TD pct. (9.4), and yards per pass attempt (8.9) in 1962.  He was selected first team All-AFL by the American Football League, the Associated Press, and United Press International.
Halfback Abner Haynes led the AFL in yards from scrimmage (1,622), touchdowns (19), and rushing TDs (13) in 1962.  He earned first team All-AFL honors from the AFL, AP, and UPI and was selected to play in the AFL All Star Game for the second straight year.
Wide Receiver Chris Burford was selected first team All-AFL by the AFL, AP, and UPI following the 1962 season.  He led the AFL with 12 receiving TDs, and led the Texans with 45 receptions and 645 yards receiving during the season.
Middle Linebacker Sherrill Headrick brings down Chargers halfback Paul Lowe in the Texans 26-17 victory.  He intercepted two passes in 1962 and was selected first team All-AFL by the AFL, AP, and UPI.  He earned an AFL All Star Game selection for the third straight year in 1962.
Tight End Fred Arbanas caught 29 passes for 469 yards and 6 TDs in 1962.  He earned a selection to the AFL All Game in his rookie season and was voted 2nd team All-AFL by the AP and UPI in 1962.
Strong Safety Bobby Hunt led the Texans and finished third in the AFL with 8 interceptions in 1962.  He earned first team All-AFL by the AP and UPI in 1962.
