Wide Receiver Fred Biletnikoff finished second in the NFL in receptions (58), sixth in receiving yards (802), and tied for sixth in receiving TDs (7) in 1972.  He was voted first team All-NFL by Pro Football Weekly, The Sporting News, and UPI and second team All-NFL by the Pro Football Writers following the season.

Cornerback Willie Brown collects one of his four interceptions in 1972 and also recovered a pair of fumbles during the season.  He was selected to the Pro Bowl for the seventh time in his career and was voted 1st team All-NFL by Pro Football Weekly, The Sporting News, and UPI.  AP named him to their second team All-NFL following the season.

Quarterback Daryle "The Mad Bomber" Lamonica finished third in the NFL with 18 passing TDs in 1972 and his passer rating of 79.4 was fourth best in the NFL in 1972.  He earned his fifth selection to the Pro Bowl following the 1972 campaign.

Strong Safety George Atkinson intercepts a pass against Pittsburgh in the season opener.  His 4 picks tied three other Raiders for the club lead in 1972.
